“In high school I was an actor and a singer. In fact art has always brought me so much joy. I started dancing several years ago. I have been dancing with Pamoja Dance Group since its establishment in 2006 and this experience has changed the way I look at things and the way I move. In Pamoja you get to be creative beyond your imagination and the work is so emotional, you often hold back tears. I was trained by Miriam Rother to take over the group when she left Kenya. I know I will do this for a long time thanks to the determination of my fellow dancers.I have done dance workshops in South Africa, Denmark, England and Scotland In the U.K I worked with Stopgap dance company for three months and here I was trained how to work with children with disabilities in particular learning disabilities, autistic, cerebral palsy, and mental disability. I now have a knowledge and experience to better and expand the dance with disabilities”.
